We’ll be tasting some gorgeous bubbles and pink fizzes, namely: Charles Pelletier Crémant de Bourgogne, Silvola prosecco and Gremillet champagne.
The corks will be popped at 12pm, so why not come and along and try some new wines to wow your Valentine with?
And don’t forget that there are discounts for buying on the day too!
This lovely pink Méthode Traditionnelle sparkling wine is made from Tempranillo grapes, resulting in a dry, yet mouthwateringly fruity wine with delicate hints of strawberries and cherries. It is a light and elegant Crémant de Bourgogne.
A light, elegant Italian rosé prosecco, just perfect for sunny, warm days. Be transported to the warmth of Italy with every sip!
Made with 100% Pinot Noir, this dry yet fruity champagne shows a fine mousse in the glass. It is a delicate pink colour, with ripe strawberries and vanilla on the palate. Rich and concentrated, it also presents classic Champagne toasty biscuit flavours.

Join us this Saturday as we taste wines from the fabulous Côtes du Rhône in France.
This gorgeous red wine is a blend of Grenache Noir (98%) and Syrah (2%) and is “As good as Côtes du Rhône-Villages gets!”
When you’re tasting it, expect to enjoy a sweet Grenache-driven wine, yet big and opulent at the same time with oaky notes. This is a well structured wine with good length and finish. You’ll enjoy every mouthful!

Bodega Luis Cañas is located in the heart of the Basque region of Spain and they believe that the best wines can only be obtained from the best possible grapes – and this begins and ends in the vineyards. Their rioja is the only rioja served in Ferran Adria’s tapas bar Tickets in Barcelona (and if the world’s greatest chef and Ann both like this wine, then we know you will too!).
Please feel free to join us from 12pm on Saturday 14th January in our Newark wine shop.

As 2017 starts, this will also be a fresh start for Ann et Vin as we refocus on our core offering of wine, spirits, liqueurs and wine-related gifts.
This does mean that the shop might be in a slight state of disarray while we reorganise everything, but please bear with us while we make sure we have the best wine offers available for you.
Saturdays will now be Wine Tasting Central at Ann et Vin, when we give you the opportunity to try some new and exciting wines. We definitely want to get you out of your Wine Bubble and trying something new so please pop along and see what we have on offer!
Once again, thank you for your patience and see you in the shop very soon!

Wine entrepreneur and owner, Ann Hayes is refocusing her efforts on making Ann et Vin the wine shop destination for consumers who appreciate good wine by providing easy access to a wide range of both fine quality and affordable everyday wines.
“After much deep thought and consultation with our customers and consumers, we’ve realised that it’s time for us to go back to basics and focus wholly on offering wines, spirits and liqueurs. As such the coffee shop and bar will be closing from 31st December 2016.
“There’s a huge demand locally for wines that have been independently sourced and recommended based on personal experience – that’s something you can’t really get in a supermarket as they tend to promote the wines they have bought in bulk, which are not necessarily the best examples of the wines available.”
“By returning to a dedicated wine shop, we’ll be able to increase the breadth of our wine stocks, allowing consumers to enjoy wines that aren’t always available elsewhere, and we’ll also be offering selections of special hand-picked wines for people to discover and fall in love with. Customers can be assured of continued value for money, combined with a smile.”
“Over the years, we’ve developed very close relationships with our customers, getting to know what wines they enjoy and being able to recommend different wines that they might enjoy, based on their likes and dislikes. That level of personalized advice and individual customer service is appreciated by everyone who steps inside the shop.”
Nestled on Castle Gate in the heart of Newark, Ann et Vin has often been described as an Aladdin’s Cave of Wine and a real hidden gem.
“We have a fabulous retail location in Newark with convenient, free parking for wine shoppers. We know that there is strong support for independent local retailers in our vibrant market town and we hope that support will continue.
“We look forward to offering regular Saturday tasting events between 11am and 4pm, bringing back gorgeous wine glassware, even more wine gifts, and further enhancing our whisky, gin, vodka, cognac, port, liqueur and spirit ranges.”
“Everyone knows that Ann et Vin is a relaxed and happy place to shop for wine, without intimidation. We are definitely not wine snobs; we just want to share our love of wine with everyone.”
Although the coffee shop and wine bar will be closing on 31st December 2016, the wine shop venue will still be available for private hire, parties and charity events.
In addition to the regular Saturday wine tastings, Ann and the team will also be offering a Bespoke Wine Event Services, including wine tasting events in the privacy of your own home, drinks receptions with canapés and a drinks service.
“I would like to personally thank all our lovely coffee, lunch and live music customers for your loyalty over the years, and hope you will still continue to come and see us to buy your wine!
“2017 will mark a new chapter in the story of Ann et Vin and we hope you all will continue to join and support us on our continuing Wine Journey.”

Ann has chosen some gorgeous wines for you try:
The Cricket Series wines are inspired by a love for the Australian national sport. Indeed, the name One Chain is the imperial measurement for 22 yards, or the length of a cricket pitch. However, you really don’t need to be a connoisseur of the game to be bowled over by the restrained, elegant style of the Chardonnay and the bright red fruit and subtle oak of the Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Googly: Crisp, lively and bright, this citrus scented Chardonnay is well balanced, with tropical fruit and melon on the palate before presenting a vibrant, textured finish.
The Wrong’un: A rich, well balanced example of the Aussie classic blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Lush black fruits coupled with touches of wood spice, liquorice and cassis follow through to a delicious, velvety finish. This wine is consistently good from vintage to vintage.

Ann has chosen a gorgeous wine for you to try:
The Rocky Road Vineyard is in the southern part of the Margaret River region of Australia. Handcrafted from start to finish, the best parcels of fruit are gently de-stemmed into stone open fermenters for a pre-ferment cold soak; wines are hand plunged for gentle extraction with Cabernet and Petit Verdot undergoing extended maceration for soft and savoury tannins. Malbec is pressed sweet and racked to barrel for added texture and softness. The wine is then matured in the finest French Oak barriques. It is held in oak for 18 months prior to bottling. The wine remains unfined and unfiltered.
Rolling Stone: Iconic…Cabernet, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot. Unfined, unfiltered and natural. Lush fruit and spicy flavours, balanced by a core of purity and ripe tannins.
